The Season is Upon Us

The 2020-2021 Lady Vikings are in full swing with tryouts pre-season and try-outs in the books, rosters selected and the first scrimmage complete.

"We could not be more excited to kick off the season and even more excited to go down this road with another amazing group of young ladies," commented LVS head coach, Jay Fitzgerald.

There may be something to prove for these Lady Vikings after being overcome by St. Agnes in the State Championship game last February. After a successful 2020 season scoring more goals and conceding the least amount of goals in the history of the program, the only loses last year came from out of town teams. With a 24-5-5 overall record the Lady Vikings spent some time in the National Rankings for the 21st year in a row.

Fitzgerald continued, "It is more then just our local and state league, we want to be recognized nationally as we feel we have one of the most dynamic high school programs in the country."

The Lady Vikings return 9 of last years starters infused with 6 underclassman, with 3 of those being freshman.

With a full slate of games and showcases planned for this year, the Lady Vikings started the year last night with a scrimmage against Bishop Lynch and with Laci Earixson scoring 2 goals and Victoria Watson adding one more, despite conceding the games first goal, the Lady Vikings won the match 3-1. Next up for LVS is tomorrow night on the road at John Paul II. JV starts the night at 6pm and varsity at 7:30pm.
