Final regular season game on the road; Playoffs begin Friday

Some Lady Vikings had the time of their lives at the Super Bowl over the weekend but when returning to school, they were all business.

Last night the Lady Vikings traveled to Mineral Wells to take on WF Rider. Head coach, Jay Fitzgerald mentioned, "This is a huge game for us. Not only is WF Rider one of the best teams in the state, they play good soccer and sets us up well for the point season."

With a couple shaky moments early, the Lady Vikings came to form with 3 goals in the first 20 minutes of play with one more late in the first half building a 4-0 halftime lead. Freshman, Savannah Meyers scored 2 goals in the first half with Bella Tankersley and Laci Earixson scoring the 1st and the 4th goal respectively.

Earixson kept the scoring going in the second half to extend the lead to 5-0 before Rider got on the board and then Avery Hutka made it 6.

The pace of the game was always at a high tempo but both teams were matched up in a end to end battle resembling more of a track meet. The second half of the game was wide open and finished up 6-2 in favor of the Lady Vikings.
