7 different players score in shutout
The Lady Vikings returned from Thanksgiving break without missing a beat, improving to 4-0-3 with a 7-0 win over Texas Storm on the road tonight. Seven different Lady Vikings score in route to the Alle Steining shutout, her 3rd of the season. Rachel Firestone got on the board first off a corner kick from Savannah Meyers which turned out to be the eventual game-winner, 10 minutes into the match. It wasn't for another 15 minutes, that Laci Earixson got herself across the goalkeeper tapping the ball in the net for a 2-0 Lady Viking lead. Newcomer, Victoria Watson added to the lead with one second left before halftime, willing herself past the goalkeeper and several Texas Storm defenders just before the first half expired.
"We built up a nice lead in the first half through quality movement and tempo and the effort to get the one before halftime was important, " mentioned Lady Vikings head coach, Jay Fitzgerald.
The second half saw more of the same but all in the Texas Storm half. Just 4 minutes in to the second half, Olivia Tankersley fed a ball across the goal to Paola Vazquez for her second goal of the year. The game got faster and cleaner for the Lady Vikings after that first goal and in the 52nd minute Olivia Tankersley. got one of her own off a nice delivery from Izzy Van Zanten. Just 4 minutes after that, Mya Ulloa scored her 3rd goal of the season with helpers from Avery Pick and Bella Tankersley.
Topping off the evening with one last goal was scored by Bella Tankersley as she was able to get on the end of an Earixson cross to make the score 7-0 with 12 to play in the game.

After a good thanksgiving break we were able to remain focused and come out tonight with the result we wanted.
Fitzgerald mentioned, "We had a real good rhythm tonight and scored some really good goals with everyone contributing."
The Lady Vikings take to the field again tomorrow night at home against Trinity Valley at 6pm with the JV on the road at Trinity Valley, kicking off at 4:30pm.
